Carl Thompson – Director
Carl started Sort Your Support in 2021 after working as a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to write and implement hundreds of NDIS plans for a wide variety of people with disability. An NDIS participant himself, Carl hopes his lived experience of disability adds value and authenticity to the support he provides others.
Working as a disability advocate and having written and delivered NDIS education courses across Australia to teach people with disabilities, their families, and service providers about the NDIS – Carl loves problem-solving and working collaboratively to achieve the outcomes he knows people with disability deserve. Carl is particularly interested in assistive technology, and being a power wheelchair user himself he understands how important it is.
Aside from Sort Your Support, Carl enjoys making casual videos on his YouTube channel about living with a disability, and loves looking after his Cavoodle, Oscar. He also spends way too much time on the internet and is a self-described nerd!

Erin Gook – Support Coordinator
Erin joined Sort Your Support in November 2021 after working with Carl as a Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Erin’s extensive work in the NDIS sector enabled her to grow and extended her experience and understanding of a wider, more diverse disability community – through supporting existing NDIS participants with their NDIS plans, while helping many people gain access to the NDIS.
Erin continues to work alongside the Deaf community as an Auslan (Australian Sign Language) interpreter; demonstrating her decades long passion for language and communication by advocating for access to information & inclusion, undertaking and providing education to build capacity for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing community as well as mainstream service providers. Working within the Deaf community whose first language is not English, Erin acknowledges the important and intricate links between culture, community, family, language, and communication.
When not assisting NDIS participants or working as an Auslan interpreter, Erin can be found spending time with her family, tending her ever-increasing indoor plant family, cycling and walking the Yarra Trail, in a hot yoga class, visiting the theatre or gallery, and cheering on her beloved AFL team, Geelong.

Alana Elliott – Administrative Assistant and Support Coordinator
With years of hands on experience in the disability and education sectors through working as a Disability Support Worker and Early Childhood Educator, Alana joined Sort Your Support in June 2022.
Enthusiastic, proactive, highly organised, and with a strong attention to detail – Alana loves to connect with people on a deeper level to get to know them as a whole. Alana has a strong passion for supporting and empowering each individual to reach their full potential.
In her spare time, Alana can be found making candles, enjoying the great outdoors on nature walks, binge watching the newest TV series, or at the footy supporting Carlton. Go Blues!
